GR7 Titanium Wire ASTM B863 density 4.51g per cm3 for Chemical Equipment
The palladium content in grade 7 (Gr7) titanium wire typically falls within the range of 0.12% to 0.25%. This particular alloy surpasses pure titanium in terms of strength and corrosion resistance, offering an enhanced performance. Additionally, Gr7 titanium wire exhibits a superior ability to withstand high temperatures without compromising its strength, making it especially valuable for applications requiring durability at elevated temperatures.
Introduction:
Grade 7 (Gr7) titanium wire demonstrates robust corrosion resistance across various media, particularly in neutral and oxidizing environments. It is also suitable for use in dilute reducing acids, including different concentrations of nitric acid at room temperature, and resists corrosion in the majority of alkaline solutions such as saturated solutions of barium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, and magnesium hydroxide. However, it should not be used in boiling sodium hydroxide solution. Titanium wire remains uncorroded in seawater and offers resistance to most organic acids, with the exception of formic acid and oxalic acid. In wet chlorine and chlorite environments, it maintains excellent corrosion resistance, and in hypochlorite chloride solutions, its corrosion resistance is notably high. The corrosion resistance in sodium chloride solutions is enhanced as the pH value of the solution rises.
Characterized by its light weight, high strength, commendable biocompatibility, and impressive corrosion resistance, Gr7 titanium wire sees widespread application in chemical equipment, the petroleum industry, and the food industry, with its use extending into aerospace and biological sectors.
Despite titanium's relatively low electrode potential and highly reactive properties, it can remain stable without corroding in many environments. This stability is chiefly due to the rapid formation of a dense oxide layer on the surface of titanium in the presence of air or oxygen-containing media, which possesses strong adhesion and has the capability to self-repair. Compared to other titanium alloys, titanium-palladium alloys exhibit greater corrosion resistance in numerous reducing media and demonstrate stronger resistance to crevice corrosion. The palladium content contributes a cathodic effect that alters the anodizing properties of titanium, making it an effective alloying element for enhancing the material's performance.
